Boy....did I find some gems this weekend ! These three Woman's Day magazines from 1950 have provided many laughs and some great artwork for my walls.

Did you know that DUZ does everything? I would like to get my hands on this extra-duty formula. The colors of this ad are still so bright. Can't wait to frame it and put it in my laundry room.

Don't these cakes look delicious? I have never heard of dexo. How about you?

This one made me a little sad. Over sixty years ago women worried about sagging breasts and battling the bulge. Some things never change. :(

These are fun little oil and vinegar bottles.

And sticking with my theme...I had to include another pair of salt/pepper shakers. I think I am going to try something new and put powdered sugar in one and cinnamon sugar in the other.

On Sunday there was a little excitement around our house. A professor from our local university published a cookbook with recipes from the 1950's. They asked to use our kitchen for the promotional video. I can't wait to see it all put together. Think about getting your copy of Kooky Cookery by Bryan Ballinger .

Fabulous Friday Finds

Another pair of adorable salt and pepper shakers. Who doesn't love adorable owls?

I couldn't pass up these fun containers for a quarter. Seriously.........only 25 cents.

I LOVE the whole color combination.

Where should I display these sweet Bambi vases? I wasn't able to pass them up when I could gentle tuck them inside a $1.00 a bag sale.

This one is for my hubby. He has always wanted to live in a boat on a lake, but since I couldn't get it for under a dollar, he had to settle for a picture. :) I have to admit it is a pretty awesome boat!

I am a little sad that the garage sale season, in my neck of the woods, will be shutting down in a few weeks. As much as I will miss my Friday morning routine, it is good for me to have a few months to work on garage sale projects and take inventory of my finds. I also promised my husband that we would be able to park both cars in the garage this winter. I have a lot of work to do to keep that promise ! :)

This confession might be screaming.....I NEED TO GET A LIFE, but I can't wait for our free local newspaper to arrive at my door every Thursday. I quickly scan a few stories eager to get to the last few pages and strategically study the garage sale listings. I make my plan of action for the next morning. I love Fridays. I never need an alarm and I quietly slip out of bed while the rest of my family is sleeping. I take my list of the top 3 to 5 sales that caught my eye and try to limit my time away to just about an hour. Most sales I end up spending a minute or two glancing over the items and if I don't see anything of interest, I am quickly in my car and off to my next destination. Each Friday I am on a hunt for something special and most of the time that hunt produces at least one perfect treasure. I thought I would share with you some of my fabulous Friday finds from this summer.

Here are just a few things I found today.

Aren't these the cutest little salt and pepper shakers?? Perfect for my new kitchen !

I have a tiny obsessions with these milk glass vases. I have a lot of them. It is hard for me to "just walk away" (the words of my sweet husband) when I am usually snagging them for about a quarter each. Can you see what I paid for these? A DIME. Crazy !

I think my Gussy headbands look really cute displayed in these milk glass vases. Other than flowers and headbands, how would you use them? I am looking for some fun ideas !

I will keep posting my fabulous Friday finds each week until I run out.....which I don't think will happen for a few years. :) Hope you have a wonderful weekend !
