The Parsonage

A parsonage is the official property a church offers the pastor and his family to reside. The first church my husband pastored, we lived in the parsonage right next to the church.  While we were very thankful for the housing that was provided, it was not the ideal situation.  I was over the moon when our move, to a new church, allowed for us to purchase our own home.  Even though it is not owned by the church, we consider it "our parsonage" and we love it.  It was built in the late 1800's as a single family home.  In the 1950's a family converted it into a duplex.  It stayed a duplex until we bought it in 2008.  We have slowly been converting it back into a single family home.  It is a beauty.....with high ceilings, natural woodwork, and lots of old charm.  I can't wait to share some pictures with you of the work that has been completed and the work that still needs to be done.
